Weak 1/r-Nets for Moving Points

In this paper, we extend the weak r -net theorem to a kinetic setting where the underlying set of points is moving polynomially with bounded description complexity. We establish that one can find a kinetic analog N of a weak r -net of cardinality O(r d(d+1) 2 log r) whose points are moving with coordinates that are rational functions with bounded description complexity. Moreover, each member of...

Weak E-nets for Points on a Hypersphere

A weak e-net for a set of points M, is a set of points W (not necessarily in M) where every convex set containing eiMI points in M must contain at least one point in W. Weak e-nets have applications in diverse areas such as computational geometry, learning theory, optimization and statistics. Here we show that, if M is a set of points quasi-uniformly distributed on a unit sphere sd-l, then ther...

Note on Singular Integrals1

then by a well-known theorem of M. Riesz, ll/(*)IU<^ll/(*)IU ifi<#<«. Hardy and Littlewood [4], and Babenko [l], have complemented this result by proving that: \\f(x)\x\e\\p<Ap.f!\\f(x)\x\e\\P, if l<p< co, and -l/p<P<l/p'. The theory of conjugate functions has been extended to w-dimensions by A. P. Calderon and A. Zygmund. In [2] and [3] they have considered a wide variety of singular transform...

Generalized Helices and Singular Points

In this paper, we define X-slant helix in Euclidean 3-space and we obtain helix, slant helix, clad and g-clad helix as special case of the X-slant helix. Then we study Darboux, tangential darboux developable surfaces and their singular points. Especially we show that the striction lines of these surfaces are singular locus of the surfaces.

A note on 3-D simple points and simple-equivalence

Topology-preserving operators, like homotopic skeletonization, are used to transform the geometry of an object while leaving unchanged its topological characteristics. In discrete grids (Z2 or Z3), such a transformation can be defined thanks to the notion of simple point: intuitively, a point of an object is called simple if it can be deleted from this object without altering topology. This not...
